Day Program Services:

The focus of Day Programs is to provide a wide range of day time options to the individuals we serve.  We strive to support individuals with their goals as they work towards achieving their day time employment / activity choices.

We encourage individuals to explore a variety of opportunities in both agency owned businesses and their community.

We recognize that individual goals and dreams often change as they grow and experience life.  Through our ongoing planning process, our responsive staff works to ensure that as individuals goals change we are working to support them on their chosen path.  This can include anything from finding a new job, accessing social opportunities, joining local clubs or working towards retirement.

The Options We Offer Include:

Supported Employment

Supported Employment is competitive paid employment.  Employment may take place in either agency owned businesses or in the community.  Job Developers work to support the individuals to become independent & encourage the development of natural work place supports.

 Community Connections Learning & Leisure

This community access program is designed to offer clients a variety of educational interest & skill development opportunities, leisure support and the opportunity to connect with peers. Some individuals use this program as a base from which they access the community for employment.

Agency Business Option

Individuals may choose to access day time placements in agency owned businesses.  This option  provides individuals an opportunity to develop work skills and habits in a supported environment.  In addition to the training in the businesses, individuals in this option have access to our Employment program.  Many individuals attend these sites on a part time basis and are also involved with our employment program or other agency programs. Individuals in this option also access skill classes, safety classes, etc.

Day Activity Program

This program is designed to serve individuals with higher needs.  The program's focus is on the development of life and social skills, personal care, communication, community awareness, and the opportunity for introduction to work.  Individuals seeking community access opportunities or a  transitional phase into other day program services, may choose to access this option. 

1:1 Supported Programs

These programs are set up for individuals who require 1:1 staffing support. The program content varies and can include employment support, behavioral support or community access. Individuals with these supports often participate part time in one of the other program options as well.  

Other Opportunities Include:

Skill Classes - are offered  & cover  topics such as Job Prep, Self Advocacy & Human Rights, Community Awareness, Healthy Lifestyles, etc.

Computer Training - computers are available in some of the work areas & the staff provide support to those interested in learning their various uses. 

Social Events - Day Programs recognizes and is responsive to the social needs of the  individuals we serve.  For those employed we encourage and support their participation in company events  and   social gatherings.  We also have our own events such as an annual Christmas party, social gatherings, barbeques, etc.   These are very popular events and are well attended.
