1. Who is the Grande Prairie & District Association for Persons with Developmental Disabilities?
Since it's incorporation in 1956 the GPDAPDD has been a nonprofit, registered charity, organized and governed largely by parents of people with disabilities and interested community members.

The Grande Prairie & District Association...

• Provides Residential Services and support to 65 people with disabilities in 8 community residences, placements with private families and a variety of rental settings.
• Provides Day Programs for 75 people with a wide range of developmental and multiple disabilities. These programs take a place in a way that promotes the perspective of people with disabilities as valued contributors to our community.
• Provides high quality, consumer driven services supported by a totally individualized planning process.
• All services meet or exceed Creating Excellence Together (CET) Standards for Alberta.
• Swan Industries, Community Connections League & Learning (CCLL) Recycle Plus - Container (Bottle Depot), Plus II & Recycle Plus - Fibre (www.recycleplus.com) are businesses the GPDAPDD operate to help meet different parts of our goal.
• The GPDAPDD maintains membership in:
  • The Alberta Council of Disability Services (ACDS).
  • The Alberta Association for Community Living (AACL).
  • The Alberta Association for Supported Employment (AASE).
  • The Grande Prairie Chamber of Commerce.
  • The Alberta Bottle Depot Association.
  • The Recycling Council of Alberta (RCA).
  • The Canadian Wood Packaging Certificate Program (CWPCA).
